F1 Sim Racing: Third Podium Rounds Out 2024 Finale

The Mercedes-AMG F1 Esports team finished the 2024 F1 Sim Racing season with a podium in the final race in Abu Dhabi.

Despite not being in title contention at Yas Marina, drivers Dani Bereznay and Jarno Opmeer raced hard to the last lap of the final race, claiming P3 and P6 respectively from P6 and P11 on the grid.

It was the third podium in three days at the final event of the season in Stockholm, Sweden, after silverware for Jarno in Brazil and Las Vegas earlier in the week.

It was Dani's second trip to the podium of the campaign, adding to his P3 finish at Silverstone at Event Two in April.

"I was really pleased we were able to finish the event on a high," said Dani, who moved into the top 10 in the final standings as a result of his top-three finish.

"The podium just shows what we can achieve when things do not go against us," he added.

The result left Jarno - who scored the team's only victory of the season in that Silverstone race - P4 in the final standings on 122 points. Backed up during the season by strong drives by Jake Benham, the team finished P4 in the Constructors' with 197 points.

Jarno also received the Fastest Lap Award for the season, having finished with more fastest laps (three) across the 12 races than any other driver.

Jarno, Jake, and Dani have all put in performances to be very proud of, and I am constantly impressed by their dedication and commitment.

Oli MacFarlane

Team Principal Oli MacFarlane praised his team for their attitude throughout the season.

He said: "I am hugely proud of every single one of our team. It has been the longest season ever in F1 Esports.

"It has demanded more of the drivers and teams than ever before to remain focused, motivated, and determined in the search for performance.

"Jarno, Jake, and Dani have all put in performances to be very proud of, and I am constantly impressed by their dedication and commitment."

After an intense run of two events and 11 races in the past month, the team now returns to Brackley for a well-earned recovery period, and to prepare for the start of next season.

"The teams don't have long to rest before work begins on F1 24, and we already cannot wait to be back," added Oli.
