The covers are off on the 2025 F1 season.

Drivers are out of their winter hibernations and those back at the factories are enjoying a moment’s rest after a long and intense winter.

We’re almost ready to go racing again. First up, though, is pre-season testing. An important milestone on the road to Melbourne.

We’ve rounded up everything you need to know about this three-day foreword to the F1 2025 story.

Testing will take place in Bahrain between Wednesday, 26 February and Friday, 28 February.

Each day will be split into two four-hour sessions, with an hour break in between. Each day is scheduled to start at 10:00 local time (07:00 GMT) each day, with the action concluding at 19:00 (16:00 GMT)

It means teams will get a total of 24 hours of track time available to them across the week.

Teams may only one run car per session, so George and Kimi will not spend any time on track together this week.

While the timesheets are somewhat important, they won’t tell the full story. Teams will run different set-ups, different tyre-run plans and fuel loads to make sure they are learning as much about their cars as possible before the season begins.

“Testing so important because it is the first proper time that everyone back at the factories can see their months and months of hard work come together and hit the track,” says Trackside Engineering Director Andrew Shovlin.

The three days in the desert will allow the team to collect an enormous amount of data on W16, providing helpful insight on areas that need improvement before the first race in Melbourne.

For Kimi, it will be the first time the 18-year-old Italian has got behind the wheel against the clock as a full-time F1 driver.

George, meanwhile, will be looking to use his six seasons of F1 experience to maximise the three days, and he gets set for his fourth season with our team.

Both will be looking to help the team, communicating important feedback with the engineers to help drive the team forward.

When the three days are over, the team will return to Brackley and Brixworth to pour over the data collected and get ready for the first round of the season on March 16.

Keep your eyes on the team’s social media channels this week for all the best testing content – from on-track imagery to behind the scenes in the garage.
