About the Role:

We are looking for a Indirect Purchasing Manager to lead the Indirect Purchasing team, develop and oversee strategic purchasing decisions from conception through to implementation and managing key supplier and stakeholder relationships.

Key Accountabilities (Duties):

As the Indirect Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Delivering the Indirect Procurement strategy for all indirect components and services.

• Managing the team of Indirect Buyers to consistently maintain high performance and drive supplier excellence in terms of cost, deliver and quality.

• Provide leadership direction, development, guidance and support for team members of the Indirect Purchasing Team.

• Managing the indirect supply base and ensuring alignment with business strategy.

• Maintaining and communicating monthly departmental metrics and KPIs.

• Create strong, effective working relationships with stakeholders and key suppliers.

• Lead and coordinate commercial and contractual negotiations.

• Strive to maximise value for money and to ensure a professional process and control of expenditure is maintained.

• Manage the supply chain to support the business needs.

• Lead the commercial interface with external suppliers.

• Collaborate working relationships with other stakeholders to promote strong team working.

• Create annual continuous improvement plans for cost, quality, delivery and people development.

What we are looking for:

• Proven track record in a similar role developing and managing a high performing team – minimum of 5 years experience within a manufacturing purchasing environment.

• Leadership capability and ability to inspire team around a common purpose.

• Supportive coaching team behaviour.

• Commercial acumen and effective communication at all levels.

• Ability to create a positive profile for themselves and the team.

• Leadership experience working constructively cross functional teams.

• Strong influencing and negotiation skills.

• Must possess a process mindset with a capability for logically solving complex problems.

• Ideally CIPS qualified or equivalent.

• Extensive Procurement or Supply Chain experience with leadership responsibility.

• Strong Vendor Management Skills.

• Resilient and professional with a belief in the concept of Continuous Improvement.

• Energetic with a strong work ethic and customer focus.

• Commercially aware with solid negotiation skills.

• Supporting cost reduction and vendor rating programme.

• Ensuring good maintenance of data held with SAP procurement functions and proficiency.

• Actively promoting Purchasing practices and procedures.
