About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for a Facilities Maintenance Manager to join our Facilities team. Reporting into the Head of Facilities, you will be responsible for a small team of Maintenance Technician’s to plan and manage building repairs and maintenance works across our sites in Brackley and Silverstone to ensure facilities are maintained to the highest standard.

This will include all Helpdesk General Repairs and Maintenance, Painting & Decorating, Floor and Roof repairs, Legionella Control, Cranes and Lifting Equipment (LOLER) Management, Dust Extraction Equipment Service Management, Pest Control, Water Machine Management, Furniture and Storage Systems Management, Asbestos Management, Kitchen Deep Clean Management, and supporting excellent Housekeeping Standards across our sites. All work is to be carried out to the highest standard ensuring that Health & Safety Procedure and Policies are always followed.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a small team of Maintenance Technicians to achieve agreed housekeeping and building standards, goals, and objectives.

  • Manage repairs and maintenance as required including ceiling repairs, wall & door/joinery repairs, carpet & flooring repairs, furniture, meeting room layout and general housekeeping activities.

  • Manage and delegate Helpdesk tasks and repairs according to skill sets, suitability, and workload of Maintenance Technicians. Review unresolved priority 1 Helpdesk jobs with Maintenance Technicians, target these jobs to be completed as a priority.

  • Manage and plan building repairs and maintenance works to achieve required standards as agreed with Head of Department. Source materials, consumables, products, spares and other items as required to maintain a smooth-running service.

  • Oversee daily, weekly, monthly, and annual condition checks and ensure Room Audits are undertaken, repairs identified and completed to the required standard.

  • Accurately record and update electronic maintenance schedules

  • Manage Small Project and alterations to buildings and coordinate with external contractors to deliver required standards and costs. Plan personnel/equipment/furniture churn as required.

  • Daily workload management of contracted Painter services

  • Manage statutory checks and maintenance of Lifting Equipment (LOLER) including cranes and lifting equipment.

  • Management of Legionella Control and drinking water machines, water tanks and Asbestos Management.

  • Manage Health & Safety Control of Contactors for Building Repairs and Maintenance Contractors on site including issuing Permits to Work, review Risk Assessments and oversee completion of Contractors’ Health, Safety and Environmental Inductions booklet. Act as “Host” while these contractors are on site.

  • Arrange and Manage Kitchen Deep Clean as required.

  • Support site Energy Saving Opportunities and Sustainability Targets

  • Implement and run weekly Facilities Meetings

  • Manage direct report Maintenance Technicians including training needs and annual Performance Reviews

  • Support H&S Team to resolve Near Miss Reports and improve safety standards across our site in both Brackley and Silverstone

Candidate Profile:

  • Knowledge of Building Fabric Services and Systems

  • Leadership experience in a small to medium sized team

  • Recent knowledge of Legionella Control and Contactor Management

  • Excellent recent knowledge of Lifting Equipment (LOLER) requirements and Control Systems

  • A self-driven, pro-active individual with a “can do” attitude and ability to work in a team

  • Good inter-personal skills & ability to communicate at all levels

  • Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines
