Four races, five podiums - not a bad way to start off our 2025 virtual racing season!

The first week of the F1 Sim Racing World Championship is in the books, and our Mercedes-AMG F1 Esports squad lead the way in the teams' standings after strong performances from Hungarian duo István Puki and Dani Bereznay, and Englishman Jake Benham.

A double podium in Australia - P2 for debutant István and P3 for Dani - was followed up by another P3 for the latter in China, before another second place in Bahrain for István.

Jake got his first taste of action at race four in Saudi Arabia, and continued the team's podium streak with a P3 finish around the twisty streets.

Team Principal Oli MacFarlane said: "Event 1 was absolutely extraordinary. Every one of the races had high drama, great racing, and controversy.

"Among all that, we delivered a great run of results with podiums in every race and for all three of our drivers."

It means that after four rounds, the team leads the way in the standings with 87 points, 16 clear of Williams in second.

István is the highest of the three in the Drivers' Championship in P4, with Dani in P7 and Jake P10.

Strong strategy and excellent race pace from the team were the biggest positives to come from the week in Sweden.

István recovered from P14 to P8 in China, and P16 to P2 in Bahrain. In Jeddah, Jake came through from P10 to P3.

Dani's P3 finishes in Australia and China came from P8 and P5 on the grid respectively.

The Hungarian looked on course for another good result in Jeddah before being caught up in a crash towards the end of the race.

"It was fantastic to see the whole team working so well together in the preparation and strategy and then ultimately executed brilliantly by our drivers," added Oli.

"It's all to play for with two more events but we have made a great start."

What the Drivers Said:

Dani: "Double podium, points, and then a race where I could not avoid the unavoidable, I am happy.

"Making it into all three Q3 sessions was no easy challenge I can tell you, but we did it. We are leading the constructors and that is all that matters. What more could I ask for?"

István: "Leaving Event 1 leading the championship, we could not really ask for more.

"The same can be said for myself personally - finishing P2 in Australia as my first ever race and then another P2 in Bahrain.

"For Event 2 we need to push even harder and try to keep our momentum."

Jake: "That was a solid first event leading the championship into Event 2 and good performances all round by me, Dani, and István.

"Some unlucky moments like Jeddah for Dani and a few in Bahrain but we will now keep pushing to try and maintain our lead into Event 2."
