Hungarian GP: Team Working Hard to Maintain Positive Trajectory

It was quite a triple-header for the team. A podium in Spain, George’s win in Austria and pole at Silverstone before Lewis’ historic victory a day later.

Three races, 97 points. A tally better than every other team on the F1 grid in that timeframe.

Though the upturn in form has given the final two pre-shutdown races a slightly different complexion, Toto knows the work is far from over.

“We head into the next two races with renewed momentum,” he said.

“We have continued to make progress with the W15 in recent races, and that led to those headline results in Austria and Silverstone.

“However, we know we do not yet have a car that can challenge for victories every weekend.”

The Hungaroring has been a happy hunting ground for the team in recent years, claiming four poles (including George’s first in F1 in 2022), two wins, and six podiums in the past five races.

The circuit will again provide its own unique test for W15 this weekend.

Toto said: “The Hungaroring is different in character to the past couple of circuits.

“Unlike Silverstone, it features plenty of tight and twisty sections with just one meaningful straight.

“It does contain some high-speed corners too and it will therefore be another good examination of the gains we have made across the corner speed range.”
