“It’s been great to feel the excitement at the track from young girls who dream of racing one day!”

At the start of 2024 Doriane Pin had never competed in a single-seater race. Throw forward to December and the French racer is a multiple race-winner, with numerous podiums and pole positions under her belt.

But the Iron Dames racer wants even more in 2025. We sat down with our 20-year-old junior driver to look back on 2024 and throw forward to her aims for next year.

On and Off Track, What Were Your Season Highlights?

Doriane: “Winning the first race of the season in Jeddah was so special, and having the Mercedes team there to celebrate with me made it even better. “Then there was the win in Qatar, after a big break in the calendar it was nice to come back and be right on the pace and end the season on a high. I would probably give my season a 7/10 rating.

“Away from the racetrack, it was being on stage with Jimmy Kimmel in Los Angeles, that was such a super cool experience, chatting in front of all those people under the studio lights.”

How Did You Find Working with the Team in 2024? How Excited Are You to Carry This On in 2025?

Doriane: “Prema is an experienced team in junior categories, and Mercedes has been so successful in Formula 1. I have grown so much this year thanks to them, even through some highs and lows, we fought to the end. It was great to secure the teams title with PREMA too.

“For next year, the aim is to keep performing even better – we want to win both drivers’ and teams’ titles in 2025.”

How Did You Find Switching Between Different Series (WEC/FRECA/F1 ACADEMY) This Season?

Doriane: “Switching between cars is always a challenge, you need to readapt to the specific driving technique required each time. It was all great experience. “I don’t mind what I am driving, I just love having a steering wheel in my hands!”

What Are Your Aims for 2025?

Doriane: “The number one goal next season will be to become F1 ACADEMY champion. “It was great to be competitive in so many races this season, and next year I want to win as many races as possible to make my dream a reality.”

How Will You Use the Learnings From 2024 for Next Season?

Doriane: “Everything I experienced this season – both good and bad - was important for my own growth. I want to bring all that I learned this year together in 2025 to become even better.”

How Important Do You See the Role of F1 ACADEMY Going Forward Into Next Season?

Doriane: “F1 ACADEMY has become important in the motorsport world, and we can feel the excitement from young girls who dream of racing one day. “Next year I see F1 ACADEMY inspiring even more people to turn dreams into reality. Together we want to help create change.”

How Enjoyable Has It Being Able to Support Each Other’s Growth as Female Drivers and Provide an Example to Young Girls?

Doriane: “I have loved sharing moments track side with young girls and fans in 2024. I really enjoyed talking to them about my story and how they can take the first steps in motorsport. “Seeing the way they reacted, to feel their engagement and dedication to the sport, was so rewarding.”
