Lewis & George Tackle ‘Speed City’ Spectacular with IWC & AMG

Remarkable night-time show kicks off week in the desert

There’s going to be very few events that compare to this week’s race in Las Vegas. And we’ve already got fully into the swing of things. On Tuesday night, Lewis and George joined Mercedes-AMG, and our Official Engineering Partner IWC Schaffhausen at ‘Speed City’, an outdoor pop-up venue in the Las Vegas desert.

An on-track performance from both drivers in the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé was accompanied with a stunning drone and lights show illuminating the Vegas sky. They then joined presenter Lucy Hedges and former F1 driver and IWC brand ambassador David Coulthard for an entertaining conversation, reflecting on the performance and giving an outlook to the upcoming night race.

Tonight’s event was spectacular and a lot of fun; a fantastic way to kick off the Las Vegas race week.

Toto was also in attendance, joining Chris Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, and Michael Schiebe, CEO of Mercedes-AMG, to look back on the successful and long-standing partnerships between the companies. There was also time for design talk, with a panel discussion reflecting on the efforts involved to bring the AMG GT Coupé to life and the newly launched IWC Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 collection.

George said: “We’re so fortunate to be partnered with a brand like IWC. There are so many synergies between Mercedes-AMG, ourselves, and IWC. When you see the detail that goes into their watches, it gives you a real appreciation of the skill involved. Tonight’s event was spectacular and a lot of fun; a fantastic way to kick off the Las Vegas race week.”
