Starting in the 2025 academic year and running for three years, the team will fund a student’s full tuition across their four years of university and provide a living allowance to allow freedom to focus on their studies.
The scholarship will support talented aspiring Aeronautical Engineers in the Department of Aeronautics at Imperial College London. The department’s undergraduates study the breadth of aerospace engineering disciplines in addition to gaining computational and analytical skills, and the knowledge and experience required in industries such as motorsport.
Throughout the course of their degree, the scholars will have the opportunity to meet Mercedes team members and gain expert insight that will supplement their education.
Toto Wolff, CEO and Team Principal said: “Aeronautical Engineering disciplines play a crucial role in on-track performance and we are excited to support talented young people to find routes into this challenging specialism.
“I look forward to seeing how the selected students use this opportunity to pursue their passion and become the next generation of leading engineers.”
Anca Raines, Chief People Officer, added:“I am delighted to support an exciting scholarship programme with Imperial College London for young talent from under-represented groups.
“As a team, we are always looking for opportunities to support high-achieving students with the passion and potential to join our sport and I encourage students to apply.”
