On 27 April, 1924, the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft factory driver Christian Werner records the first major race victory for the new Mercedes 2-litre racing car at the iconic Targa Florio – the most fascinating race of that time!

Now, to celebrate its 100th anniversary, Mercedes-Benz Classic is on a mission to restore this legendary vehicle to its former glory.

Wanting to get the 100-year-old racing car back on the road in its original condition the specialists from the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center in Stuttgart are digging deep into the archive, preserving what's salvageable and reproducing missing parts as original as possible using historic documents.
