The fastest all-female racing series on the planet is back!

F1 ACADEMY is gearing up for its third season in 2025, bigger and better than ever. For the second successive year, every round will sit on the F1 support bill.

We have put together everything you need to know about the championship, and who better to help explain the series than our very own junior Doriane Pin, the 2024 vice-champion.

The Cars

F1 ACADEMY will use Formula 4 spec single-seater race cars this season, and just like 2024, all 10 F1 teams have an entry on the grid.

Six further entries supported by series sponsors make up the field, in addition to a wildcard at each of the seven races on the calendar.

“To represent our F1 team is an amazing opportunity, and gives us so much visibility,” explains Doriane.

“Being up close to the F1 cars in the paddock helps us grow our understanding of the technical aspect of racing as well.”

Indeed, just being present in the paddock last season gave the series a big boost, a fact not lost on Doriane. “People were interested in the championship, and you could tell their attention was on you. That was massive for us,” she adds.

The Calendar

Seven rounds make up the 2025 F1 ACADEMY calendar, with two races at each event.

Asia, North America, and Europe are all represented on the schedule, with the opening round in Shanghai set to host the series for the first time.

“I am really looking forward to Shanghai,” says Doriane.

“I loved the track in the sim, and it was amazing to drive in real life when we tested there. You can really race there, and it is possible to overtake.

“All of the new tracks on the calendar this year are exciting, it is always great to have something new to learn.

“Learning tracks we would not normally get to drive could be so important for us in the future, when we get into F3 and F2.”

After returning to Jeddah and Miami for rounds two and three, the series will go to Montreal for the first time in June.

After the summer break, Zandvoort and Singapore will again make up the first of three races at the end of the season, before an incredible finale on the streets of Las Vegas to close the season.

The Racing

New for this season, the first of the two races over a weekend will be run with a reverse grid format, meaning the top eight times from the single 30-minute qualifying session on Friday will be reversed to create the starting line-up.

Two points will be awarded for the driver who sets the fastest time in Qualifying.

The top eight finishers from Race 1 will receive points as follows: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.

An additional fastest lap point will be awarded if that time has been set by one of those top eight finishers.

Doriane says: “It [the reverse grid format] is great for racing, and great for the show. It is good for us to learn how to fight, and how to be intelligent in terms of our race craft.

“It’s going to be interesting, but I am looking forward those battles on track!”

Two points will be awarded for qualifying on pole for Race 2, with points awarded as follows for the top 10 finishers at the chequered flag: 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.

An additional fastest lap point will be awarded if that time has been set by one of the top ten finishers.

Hello, Netflix!

In addition to seven rounds of highly anticipated on-track action, there is more F1 ACADEMY-related excitement coming your way in 2025.

Netflix cameras followed the drivers and teams over the course of the 2024 season, with an exclusive behind-the-scenes docuseries dropping later this year.

“It’s massive for us, and I am really excited to see how it turns out,” says Doriane.

“They came to film with me for a day in the off season and spent time with me and my dad to learn more about my story, and how I started racing.

“I got to sit in the famous Netflix chair!”
